Aston Villa will play their final league match of the 2017-18 Championship campaign against Millwall this weekend, before turning their attention to the playoffs.
One player that will not be involved against Millwall though is full-back Neil Taylor, who is struggling to overcome a hamstring problem.
News of Taylor’s absence landed on Villa’s Twitter account on Thursday, and it would be fair to say that the response to the injury update was not kind.
Taylor has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Villa during the 2017-18 campaign, and actually has a contract at Villa Park until the summer of 2021 having only made the move from Swansea City in January 2017.

The 29-year-old, who is valued at £4.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has struggled to impress for long spells, however, and the Villa supporters have simply not taken to the Welshman since his arrival.
Taylor will not be involved this weekend, and the club’s fanbase want head coach Steve Bruce to sanction his exit in this summer’s transfer window.
