According to BBC Football, Arsenal are closing in on the club-record signing of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The report states that the Gunners have already had a bid rejected for the 26-year-old, but that talks are progressing well between the two clubs and a deal is likely to go through.
It would be a welcome boost for manager Arsene Wenger following their fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season, which means they won’t be participating in the Champions League next term.
Lacazette certainly arrives with some brilliant goalscoring pedigree too having netted 37 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit during the previous campaign.
Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on the potential arrival of the France international via social media, and while some believe he will be a great addition to the team, others are concerned as to why none of their rivals have bid for him.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
