Barcelona are eyeing Arsenal target and Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi according to Mundo Deportivo.
What’s the story?
The 29-year-old midfielder will be familiar to English football fans as he spent eight years playing in the Premier League, first with Blackburn Rovers then with Stoke City.
After he moved to Sevilla in 2015, the rangy French international found another level and has impressed over the last few seasons for the Spanish club, making 90 appearances in La Liga,to register seven goals and six assists.
The World Cup winner has been linked with Arsenal all summer and according to reports, Sevilla will not sell the midfielder for less than his release clause of £36million.
Now it appears Barcelona are making the Sevilla midfielder something of a priority after failing to sign PSG’s Adrien Rabiot.

Is he worth it?
With Arsenal having already spent a fair chunk of their budget bringing two central midfielders to the Emirates in Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi, fans may wonder if they really need a third for £36million.
However, what Nzonzi offers that no other current Arsenal midfielder does is pure strength and physicality, standing at 6ft 5in.
It’s the kind of player Arsenal have lacked since the days of Patrick Vieira and if Unai Emery manages to sign the French international, he could be the missing piece of the puzzle for his new squad and ensure they are finally title contenders again.
When Barcelona are involved, it’s difficult to win that battle but Emery should try all he can to see off the Spanish giants and land their key target.
