Tah has been a major part of Bayer Leverkusen's rise to the top under Xabi Alonso, however, the German centre-back had decided that he would be leaving Die Wekself after the end of his contract this summer. The 29-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona before the Catalan side handed Ronald Araujo a new contract and pulled out of the race.

Bayern Munich had pushed themselves in the lead to sign Tah this summer through the end of the season, and Vincent Kompany's Bundesliga winners have now announced the signing of the German centre-back on a four-year contract until the summer of 2029.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID
Speaking to club media, Tah said: “I want to take on responsibility here and work hard every day so that we’re successful as a team and win lots of trophies together.”
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan Tah to FC Bayern. As an experienced international and leader, he brings the consistency and quality that will strengthen our defence. He’s a real gain for us – and he’s also proven that he can win titles."
