We’ve known that Leeds United are in need of a winger this month for quite a while as Phil Hay provided us with that update almost as soon as Jack Clarke was recalled by Spurs.
However, we’ve not seen many wide men linked with a move to Elland Road, and even with Beren Cross’ latest update we still haven’t.
The journalist was being incredibly elusive with his most recent piece of information as he stated that the Whites want a young Premier League winger who is out of contract this summer.
Of course, this led to a frenzy amongst the fanbase as supporters desperately trawled Transfermarkt in an attempt to find which Premier League wingers are free to leave their clubs this summer.
Some such as Willian were a bit too unrealistic, while others such as Robbie Brady are too old to be considered a young player.
However, there was one man who fit the profile, and a number of United supporters believe they’ve cracked the code.
Jordon Ibe, the 24-year-old winger from Bournemouth whose contract is up at the end of the season seemingly fits the description, and it didn’t take long for the Elland Road faithful to connect the dots.
Other supporters weren’t best pleased about the potential arrival of Ibe due to the lack of promise he has shown at Bournemouth.
It may sound a little harsh, but they’re right. The former Liverpool man has contributed to just 14 goals in 92 games for the Cherries, and that isn’t a record that anybody can get excited about.
Meanwhile, One of Leeds’ transfer targets could be a perfect Pablo Hernandez replacement.
