According to Football Insider, West Ham United have been told that they will have to come up with an offer of £12m in order to sign Nantes midfielder Abdoulaye Toure during the January transfer window.
The report claims that West Ham, alongside a number of ‘leading European clubs’, are interested in Toure ahead of the opening of the winter market.

A number of the London side’s fans have been on social media offering their views on the latest update and some are excited by the possibility of a mid-season deal.
That said, there are a number of fans who do not believe that their club will be able to complete a deal due to the price that has been quoted.

Toure has scored three times in 17 Ligue 1 appearances for Nantes this season and therefore it is not a surprise that the French club are demanding a sizeable fee.
One supporter has outright rejected the deal, meanwhile, claiming that Manuel Pellegrini’s side need a new goalkeeper and another centre-back in January rather than a midfielder.

The 25-year-old would certainly bring some leadership to the ranks, though, having worn the captain’s armband for Nantes since the end of August.
Meanwhile, West Ham will reportedly find it difficult to sign this out-of-favour midfielder from one of their bitter rivals during the winter window.
